Preschool Leagues
We offer Wiffle(R)Ball Leagues for Youth 3-6 years:
Fall Leagues (September - November)Winter Leagues (January - March)
Spring Leagues (April - May)
A Medford Township Recreation Department program held here at BLD. Your child will be placed on a team with others his or her age, supervised and coached by BLD coordinators. Each session will get basic instruction on the fundamentals of baseball and play one 45-minute Wiffle®Ball game per week. All levels of players are welcome as each child will get individualized help each week, helping to continually improve their skills while promoting the enjoyment of the game. The League is a great way to safely introduce the game of baseball to beginners while also continually growing the skills of experienced players.
We currently offer two levels of play:
Beginner - Recommended for ages 3-5 for children who are new to the game of baseball. Parents are requested to participate/assist their child on the field. Sessions include instructional topics such as:
- Terminology (Field, Dugout, Base, Foul, etc.)
- Base Running
- Batting From a Tee
- Throwing
- Fielding Ground Balls
- Terminology (Out, Double, Fly Ball, etc.)
- Improved Batting Techniques Off a Pitched Ball
- Fielding (Fly and Ground)
- Base Plays (Outs)
- Throwing Accuracy
- Easily hit a pitched ball (underhand)
- Run to the next base when a ball is hit
- Patiently stand in the outfield to field hit balls
- Positively interact with other children and coaches
Join our WINTER PRESCHOOL LEAGUES. We are offering six sessions for our WINTER SEASON:
Beginner 3-5 years Tues (Combining with Advanced, 10:45-11:45am)
Advanced 4-6 years Tues 10:45-11:45am 1/24-3/13
Beginner 3-5 years Tues (Combining with Advanced, 6:00-7:00pm)
Advanced 4-6 years Tues 6:00-7:00pm 1/24-3/13
Beginner 3-5 years Sat 9:00-10:00am 1/28-3/17 (FULL)
Advanced 4-6 years Sat 10:15-11:15am 1/28-3/17 (FULL)
