FAQs
Q: Do I need to bring bats and/or balls?
A: BLD supplies both bats and balls for the league. You are allowed to bring your own bats provided that they are standard (yellow ONLY) wiffleball bats. Only the handle of the bat may be taped and it cannot be altered in any other fashion. Only the balls that BLD provides are allowed to be used. No outside, scuffed balls.
Q: What if I or my team cannot make our scheduled game?
A: Please call or email us as soon as possible so we can notify your opponent. Week 8 is designed to be for make-ups and we will try our best to reschedule the game at an agreeable time.
Q: What if I'm batting and the ball hits my hand?
A: Just like in major league baseball, you hands are NOT considered to be a part of the bat, but part of your body. If you swing at a ball and it contacts you hand, it is a STRIKE, not a FOUL, and not a LIVE ball even if it goes into the field of play. If it is the 3rd strike, you are OUT.
Q: What happens if the bat inadvertently slips (and not thrown) from my hand while batting?
A: After the batter has contacted the ball into the field of play, it is a LIVE ball, regardless of whether the bat interferes with the fielder attempting to make a play on the ball.
